Merritt has been training dogs since she was 9 years old. she has multiple national placements, most recently earning a bronze medal at theUKI US open and 2nd and 4th place at Cynosport World Games Grand Prix of Dog Agility, and 4th in Biathlon.
She has a degree in Biology and was studying Neuroscience before she left school to pursue full time work in dog training. She now manages Level Up Dog Sports in Virginia, spending most of her time teaching. She is also a UKI judge.
Merritt has owned and run dogs of all shapes and sizes, ranging from a shih tzu and papillon, to a sheltie mix and border collies, to a golden retriever. Her sheltie mix, Chase, has titles in AKC, USDAA, CPE, NADAC, and ASCA. Due to this experience with a wide range of dogs and agility venues, Merritt enjoys helping ALL teams, no matter their goals or struggles. She believes that training plans should be upbeat, positive, and suited to fit each individual team.
